It was getting late for me last night when I posted the previous poll. Someone pointed out I didn't make the text entry limit bigger than the default for the second and third questions. Rather than deleting the previous post, here's another with that corrected. So now it's up to six questions, but two of them will have to be short.
[Poll #955520]
Ask Orvan.
27 March 2007 21:47Orvan hasn't been seen or heard from much in a while. So to keep him from feeling too disconnected, I've set up a little poll so folks can ask him up to three questions. After the poll has run for a while (maybe a week?) Orvan will respond to any questions. Respond. Not necessarily answer.
I recall an old sing-along (follow the bouncing ball) cartoon with the line "There ought to be a moonlight savings time." I've no idea how that would work.
Poll results
14 January 2007 10:44The poll in my last post produced some interesting results. While the majority of respondents said that "Mayo and Miracle Whip taste... utterly, completely different" the breakdown by gender got my attention.
The female respondents all said "utterly, completely different" or "rather different." The male respondents, while still leaning towards "different" did not lean quite so hard in that direction:
Female responses

X X
X X
---------------------
<- Different Same ->
Male responses

Y Y Y Y Y Y Y

<- Different Same ->
What that means, I don't know. It could be a fluke given that the respondents were self-selected and the sample size is not all that big. If it does mean anything, then what? That women are more perceptive of those tastes? That men are less likely to care?
