They're similar in composition and mouth-feel... but worlds apart in taste, because Miracle Whip has extra sugar and vinegar added. I usually prefer mayonnaise for sandwiches and mashed potatoes, while I mainly use Miracle Whip in making tuna salad (into which I also dump sweet or dill pickle relish).

While Miracle Whip hits your tongue with a tangy zip, mayonnaise hits your tongue with a dull thud.

Mayonnaise is MUCH BETTER!

I rarely use either, but since I find them indistinguishable (and apparently so does my wife), I just grab what's cheapest. What I prefer is Kraft Sandwich Spread on nearly any sandwich (poultry sandwiches and seafood sandwiches are better with mayo/Miracle Whip), I love the stuff. (It's also one of the *very* few things, if not the only thing, I'm very brand-loyal to, the only other manufacturer I've seen of it is Heinz, and their version is absolutely terrible. Since I love Kraft's so much (tyring to convert my wife, but no success) I'm staying with that one.

And, until just now when I went to search for a link of the product to help with this article, I did not know that Amazon.com sold food. Would never have guessed.
