One of the roommates I'll have at RCFM is from outside North America and his flight, as well as the time zone change, will likely have him rather tired. He requested the highly caffeinated drinks Bawls and Jolt since they are available. The problem was that I hadn't seen such around.
On my way back from Detroit whenever I stopped for water (what I generally drink) or gasoline, I'd look around and see the convenience store had. I did the same yesterday on my way up to Minneapolis to pick up
jmaynard. I found both Jolt and Bawls at SuperAmerica stations and now should have a sufficient supply. I don't usually stop at SuperAmerica stations as the one in Fairmont is usually selling gasoline at a price higher than everyone else. Or it was until recently. Fuel prices are now high enough that evidently people must be looking around and the SuperAmerica folks figure they can't get away with charging more even if they are the most obvious place near the Interstate.
What they did not have was Sioux City birch beer (it's like root beer, but with a more wintergreen flavor). I want to find more of that, but haven't seen any except in Charles City, IA which is rather inconveniently located. I hope (and expect) there's some to be found in the Twin Cities, but I don't want to end up running all over the Cities to find the stuff.
