It's not a song...

There's a set of questions going around LJ which includes "What song is stuck in your head right now?" I don't have a song stuck in my head at the moment.

I've got something else stuck in my mind for no reason I can work out. A chemical, or at least one of the names of a chemical. For a while now, I've had benzopyridine going through my mind. Why? I don't know. Maybe it just sounds neat (I like chemical names. Yes, really.) and that could be why I still have benzopyridine going through my mind rather than quinoline which is the preferred name nowadays.

From my personal experiences, I find it odd that someone cannot have a song stuck in their head. Myself, for whatever reason, I *always* have some kind of music stuck in my head. Right now, for instance, I have about a 3 second clip of a bit of music (and underlying narration) from a Moore's (a suit company) commercial currently on TV. And it's been on constant cycle for at least the past 20 minutes. Why? I dunno, that's just how my mental soundtrack works. I must have music in my dreams, because it starts first thing when I wake up, I'd have the oddest song stuck in my head (the odd time it isn't even a real song!) first thing in the morning, and, if I can remember my dream, know that it comes from there.

(which leads me to another curiosity, I find it odd when my wife tells me that she rarely remembers her dreams. I must admit, I don't remember all mine, but I think I remember about half. Scientists say, of course, that we dream all the time, but sometimes we don't remember them when we instantly wake up.)
