The 1970s...

1. Seemingly every (U.S.) political scandal now gets suffixed with the same ending as this.
2. This started in late 1979 and dragged on for 444 days.
3. The line, "He drank the Kool-Aid" refers to this.
4. This pesticide was banned in U.S. in 1972.
5. This 1975 "Test Project" involved an unusual degree of US-Soviet cooperation.
6. Eleven days before Three Mile Island was in the news, this movie about a nuclear incident was released.
7. Not only was the U.S. national speed limit set to 55mph, this was tried for fuel conservation in 1974.
8. This church leader died not long after being selected as leader.
9. In the U.S. this means of communication became quite popular - and quite abused.
10. A day after his inauguration, Jimmy Carter followed through on a contentious campaign promise and did this.

Creatures of Habit

Everyone is a creature of habit, to some degree. Everyone has habits. Good one, bad one, useless ones, useful ones, harmless ones, dangerous ones, and the occasional unintentionally amusing one.

( I suppose it's exercise, at least. )

TextPad - Tabbed text editing, with context highlighting and stuff.
Audacity - so I can go from tape (yes, tape) to mp3.
Opera - Web browsing, on my terms.
IrfanView - image viewing.
