Linux-land, Part 4
17 December 2004 07:35Another night of playing with DeLi Linux. Or at least with a couple things on it.
After a couple false starts, I got rhapsody to understand /a. Looking around, there's more than I care to get into just now for other changes.
I found there is a tolerable graphical text editor installed, the name of which I suddenly can't recall. [Addendum: It's xedplus, part of the siag suite.] I know it wasn't xjed or elvis, but another. I also managed to get NEdit and it ran without too much complaint - it wasn't perfectly happy, but it ran. NEdit also now has tabbed windowing for handling multiple files.
I found how to move the graphical ftp client, tkftp, enough to make it usable. It's basic, but sufficient.
There's still a couple things to be done. I need to look at Icewm's files and see about adding a couple menu items - and removing some others. And while I'm doing that, get a decent focus model. Bump-pointer-to-lose-focus is very annoying and must go.
