Earlier this evening we got a phone call. rillaspins had decided to take a detour to Fairmont on her way home from the Big Island Rendezvous in Albert Lea. She made it to Fairmont just fine, and had our address right, but since it's not all that obvious which house is which from the street a bit of information was needed to get to exactly the right place. I'd not really expected to see her this weekend, figuring she'd stay overnight in Albert Lea and maybe come to Fairmont tomorrow. If that happened, I'd likely be at work. But she decided to bug out of Albert Lea and come here.

Once here, Rilla dropped off a few items. The computer that had been mentioned at MNRF, as well as items needed for Jay's next costume. That, or parts of it, are still in progress and she got a look at some of it. She also got a quick tour of the house, and noticed all the Animaniacs stuff around, as well as the various computers. I wonder whether more time was spent in the house or out by her rather fully packed car. I think more time may have been spent out by her car. The visit was rather short, but quite pleasant.

Well, maybe not all that sudden. But I just found out.

Just got off the phone with my mother. It seems a friend of the family, a friend who flies a powered parachute is going to a gathering of fliers of such things. This gathering will take place Nov. 8-10 in St. George, UT which is about a hundred miles northeast of Los Vegas. He was going to have a friend of his drive his van, towing the flying machine (chute packed, of course) out west while he flew commercially. Well, something came up and the friend is no longer available to do the driving.

So a few calls, some pondering, and a few more calls, and now my folks will be spending a couple weeks driving out west and back for this, picking the parachute flier up at the Los Vegas airport. It sounds like a welcome change of routine for them, too. And this Saturday night they'll be staying overnight in Fairmont. So now Jay & I have some slight plans for the weekend. We still won't really be going anywhere, just putting up my folks for a night. There is one place we will be going, but that's in town. It seems the Mexican restaurant we took them to on their last visit made an impression, so they want to go there again. Fine by us. There is a reason we took them there.
