A suspect quiz.
8 May 2006 09:40Not as if they all aren't in some way suspect, but the current IQ test thing got me suspicious. I've seen many proudly posted results and so the image must have at one time shown an IQ score that people would want to post. But the images I saw all had scores below 80. If it happens once, that could be a fluke. If it happens twice, it could be a coincidence. Coincidences do not keep on happening. It has become a trend.
In skimming around LJ this morning I saw one person claim to get a good score by purposely answering everything wrong.
foxgrrl also got suspicious and did some digging and found this. The second comment explains what is going on: It's just an unfunny joke at the quiz-taker's expense. The quiz will always give a high IQ result no matter the answers. The image will show that high result, at first. Then later, after it is proudly posted, the served image shows a score well below 100. It will show the test taker the high number, but everyone else will see a number well under 100.
