So long to the old year as it ticks relentlessly away.

Happy New Year, folks.

I'm not making any New Year's Resolutions as while the intent may be good, it seems not to work out, and not just for me. It's generally assumed that a New Years Resolution won't last through, or even to February. It doesn't make sense to try make a change with the common assumption that it will fail.

If there's something that needs changing or doing, why wait until another year to start in on it? Better to go after a problem right away rather than let it fester until some calendar change. A line from The Music Man applies: "You pile up enough tomorrows, and you'll find you are left with nothing but a lot of empty yesterdays."
