I've been reading the Deer Me comic for a while and find I identify at least a little with the character of Velvet Hairyson and not just because she's the equine in the strip. The strip that stands out for me is the July 8, 2005 installment.
That stands out for me as I have "been there and done that." For anyone wondering, no, I don't have the t-shirt. When I encounter a tune I really like I will often repeat-play it many times. I'm not sure I can quite explain why. Part is that I do like the tune. But part might be that I am also actually trying to burn out on it a bit so it won't be stuck in my mind. Or so that I can listen to it in the background somewhat and not be distracted by it. The repetition works for me, but not for anyone nearby who might also hear whatever I'm (over)playing.
Yet there are tunes that don't really mean much to me that have repeats, often at a rate very familiar to those over a certain non-specific age, which seem excessive and I'll quip, "the needle's stuck." So it's not that I like all repetition, just that I will use it at times.
