Missing the reference

I don't watch much TV. Nor do I listen to commercial radio very much. And "popular" magazines and tabloids are things I tend not to read. This results in a disconnect from that thing known as 'pop culture'.

While I heard a name, well two names, on and off, in the background of things for some time, it wasn't until a few weeks ago that I made the connection. There is this person Jennifer Lopez. Her name(s) get abbreviated to "J.Lo". For some time I had no idea that these were the same person. I had figured "J.Lo" was some rapper, since the abbreviation sounds to me like a rapper name.

I like to call her by the other bits of her name: Ennifer Pez. Or Pezzie for short!

Pezzie is dating actor Ben Affleck, or as I like to call him, Benflec!

Pezzie an' Benflec. Benflec & Pezzie.

They're just made for each other. They both have silly names!

This, BTW, is why I read Entertainment Weekly. So I can "get" all the pop culture references without all that bothersome moviegoing, TV watching and music listening!
