Have a parafin lamp 'cause it uses parafin wax and everything.

Outdoors at night I'll use any and all waste light in the area.

I knew I forgot something. But then, I don't know whether the sodium-vapor lamps on the buildings here are high- or low-pressure.

High Pressure Sodium (HPS) is more orange-looking and is a broader spectrum than Low Pressure Sodium (LPS) which is very, very yellow since it's pretty much the twin yellow sodium lines being emitted and not much else. Astronomers prefer LPS as it's much easier filter out a couple narrow lines and get something approaching a dark sky again. It seems almost everyone else prefers HPS, despite higher costs of installation, maintenance, and operation compared to LPS.

Given how orange it is and that the buildings were built in 1970, I'm guessing HPS, then.
