Interesting. I grew with both "pop" and "jimmies" as the standard name for those things, respectively. The first time I heard "sprinkles" I wondered a moment why someone would rain on such a thing.
Depends on what region of the country you're from/familiar with. I never heard of "jimmies", but "pop" = "soda pop" = "soda" = "coke (speaking generically)". Yes, there are places you can order a Coke (being specific) and they ask what kind because they think you're asking generically for a "coke".
That's where I grew up... central New York you order a soda or a Coke...and if they serve Pepsi, you just get the Pepsi version of Coke. It genuinely puzzled me the first time I asked for a Coke and was asked "is Pepsi okay?"
Of all the things Michael Jackson did, singing, songwriting and dancing, it's unfortunate that his singing was the weakest link. It kept a lot of people from realizing the tremendous talent in the other two areas.
Cookies: Love all of them, but love peanut butter cookies far and away the most!
Hydrox: never heard of (sounds like a bleach!) I was just in Minnesota last week for a camping trip and had to stop at a store for supplies. There was a few things in there that reminded me that I'm not in Kansas anymore ("what the hell is this??") but I didn't come across "Hydrox" (and we were in the cookie aisle!")
Tortilla chips: Glad that you added that, since I can't have potato chips, I eat more than my fair share of tortilla chips (and my wife usually buys those for entertaining company for my sake). Nacho chips are just as good, if not better, same with Sun chips (don't know if you have those there, multigrain dealies)
MJ: You don't have a "hit his prime 25 years ago" option? That's my vote. Yes, the guy was good, *maybe* even deserving the "King of Pop" title (because most pop stars are talentless hacks anyways, MJ at least had talent (when he was still black); and MJ seems to have a lot of eerie parallels in his life with Elvis, another "King")
Hyrdox cookies were discontinued a while ago, but resurface from time to time. They are, or were, like Oreos except they were made from all vegetable (no lard) and so those who had reason to avoid any and all pork products could have those. While some seemed to think of Hydrox as the copy, they were around before Oreo.
I am curious about the "What's this?!" stuff you encountered, if you remember it.

Yes, there are Sun Chips here.
I guess I missed that one. Ah well.
