ADDENDUM: Oops. I managed to omit Australia. That was not intentional.

Extra Crispyâ„¢ is an abomination*. Harland himself thought so, but he'd sold off the brand by that point.

I'm also told their gravy has gone WAY downhill over the years; that the original gravy was near ambrosia. (I wasn't really into gravy in my youth)

*For that matter, so is Offal House.

Extra Crispy one of those things that sounds good as kid, but as an adult it just seems wrong - it gets in the way of getting to the actual meat.

I've never cared for gravy, but at least the (old?) KFC gravy was at least barely tolerable. I don't care to imagine what it might have become.

I used to say that White Castle was the Waffle House of the north, but having now been in both I no longer make that claim. I would consider going to a White Castle again.

it gets in the way of getting to the actual meat.

That's cause it consumes the actual meat, transforming it into some inedible greasy lump in the process.

Yes. William Poundstone's Bigger Secrets says that originally, people said the gravy was so good you'd be tempted to throw the chicken away and keep the gravy, but alas, by the time I was first exposed to a Kentucky Fried Chicken establishment, the gravy had become the ghastly brown gelatinous ick that is known around the world.

Actually I much prefer Popeyes to KFC. Been in Louisiana most of my life, what can I say, it kinda comes with the territory.

When I ate meat I found KFC to be the best of the fried chicken places locally (Church's and Chester Fried Chicken and popeyes being the other three)

Taco bell is my win because now that I don't, they're the only place I can eat a variation of everything on the menu, cause they'll make anything with beans as opposed to meat.

NOTE: The menu at a Canadian KFC isn't always the same as the US. Also, we have a fondess because we're the place that had the first franchises. Yes, I kid you not. We had 'KFC's here called 'Scott's Chicken Villa', and some still exist around my city. They were the first company to buy the recipe and were grandfathered into the KFC world.

They deliver! Not a claim any KFC in the USA can make.

That's impressive. I think nobody but the pizza places deliver here. Not even the local Chinese places deliver, difficult as that might be to imagine.

I think everybody delivers in Chicago except the hot dog joints.

I thought that was sarcastic? If not, yes, KFC-Delivery was a jingle here.

Not sarcastic. The thought of having a fried chicken place deliver puts a smile on my face for some reason. :o)

First, there is nothing as good as homemade Fried Chicken and if I'm going to get calories, I'd better enjoy them A LOT
Secondly That stuff races to my colon
Third I have an allergy to poultry fat and if I'm going to spend the night sick for an indulgent pleasure, it will be fabulous Bejing Duck

Here in L.A., the fried chicken chains suck. KFC is the closest to edible, but when we have El Pollo Loco and Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles, who needs it?

I've never eaten at a KFC. How weird.

What is Dong Fang Ji Bai?

Take the KFC model and swap out the pressure-fried chicken and such for Chinese cuisine, done fast-food style. Wikipedia has an article of sorts on Dong Fang Ji Bai (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Dawning) if you care to trust it.

I voted "Extra Crispy" but only in reference to Extra Tastey Crispy which they have since phased out. That stuff was delicious. It used to be marinated chicken as well as the crispy coating. Now it's just the coating and really not the same at all.

Wings, meh. Least meaty part of the chicken, and they seem to be mostly used as a capsaicin delivery system. Anyway, fried chicken, meh. Other foods are tastier, less work to eat and less messy, and don't have so many inedible bits.

I didn't check WingStreet under "I wouldn't set foot in a ___", though, because my local WingStreet is actually a Pizza Hut/WingStreet, and I like Pizza Hut. So, technically... yeah.

I have yet to see one that wasn't.
