It's comforting that traumatizing one's offspring for life is a transgenerational experience.

I suppose. When the Teletubbies first appeared and folks went on and on about them - and not as supporting or a fandom - I did watch an episode or half of one. The show isn't one I'd care to sit down and watch, but as background I can give it one bit of praise if only faint praise: it's not nearly as annoying as Barney.

I do wonder if the kids who have watching Teletubbies will recall the show with horror, fondness, or nostalgia in a few decades. I know there's a DVD out of HR Pufnstuf and I'm tempted to put it on my Christmas list.

I've got a fresh copy of "For the Love of Benji" from Netflix, gonna give it a viewing this weekend. Was one of my favorite films as a kid. :)

I don't mind reliving the good parts of childhood, but some of it, like HR Pufnstuf, deserves to stay buried. :D

I watched segments (that resulted in a full episode) not long ago before they were all pulled from youtube. Cheesy and simplistic, sure, but it managed to be entertaining (perhaps for the wrong reasons, yes) and not irritating. I don't consider most TV shows even now to even rate as high as "watchable" so it's doing better than most. Nostalgia? Probably some of that. I did find myself realizing where certain things came from, and getting references I didn't get at age.. 5.. 4? I'm surprised at what I do recall, considering what age I had to be when I saw it and how much time has elapsed.

What I see above is:
"Upgrade to Pro today!"
"Bandwidth Exceeded"
[graphic of a dial with arrow in the extreme right red zone"
"photobucket"

Yeah, that *is* scary. Nothing like over-exceeded bandwidth to put the fear of God in ya!

Huh. Odd, I reloaded and got the image. The image is of HR Pufnstuf with the Teletubbies.

If ya want it done right...

Yup, Photobucket "bandwidth exceeded" is indeed creepy. I did get Teletubbies earlier, though. :o)
