An unusual event. Well, it seems like it now.

I bought a couple incandescent light bulbs. One of the small bulbs in the fridge went out and since it was a physically smaller bulb, there wasn't a ready replacement in the big box o' bulbs in the basement from when we converted to CFL. Given the size requirement and environment, a switch to CFL wasn't an option. So a direct replacement was bought and made. I think it's also been over a year since I changed any bulb.

The average appliance bulb lasts for many years anyway. There and above the stove are the only places I'll put the incandescent bulbs (and then at that, appliance bulbs). CFL has worked great for the rest of the fixtures that could take them.

I have a big box of bulbs that I dub "bulbs that came with the apartment." This is because I'll be taking the CFLs with me when I leave, though reduction in bulb cost makes that less necessary than in the past.
