Date: 7 Aug 2008 03:27 (UTC)Myself, as an anthematologist (and vexillologist), I religiously watch the Olympics (I can recall watching them on TV as far back as LA 84), I was even born in an Olympic year. Watching the entry of the nations, examining each flag carefully for any changes that may have been introduced without my knowing (it has happened!), and listening to the host national anthem and the Olympic national anthem being sung - you could say they're like my Olympics or something!

Date: 7 Aug 2008 10:46 (UTC)Myself, I find the olympics to be just another set of dull, useless sports contests that are also politically charged in a thoroughly useless manner, despite what proponents claim or wish. It used to be that this only happened every four years, but then now the Summer and Winter Nonsense has been shifted so that we get some Nonsense every two years.
