Arriving in today's mail was a set of Orvan icons from Jim Groat. That was good, as was discovering that in one update or another, PCLinuxOS is now capable of dealing with a flatbed scanner so I could scan the icons.

I had asked for three different moods or emotions and had specified two of them well. The puzzled or bewildered icon is obvious, with Orvan scratching his head. The anger/angry icon is obvious as well. But this one I'm not really sure about. It's certainly a good icon, I just don't know quite how to describe it.

So I ask you. What mood or emotion does that image convey? Or, how would you label that icon?

No need to limit things to the list that LJ (or IJ) provides. It's more wondering what sort of post would be best accompanied by this image.

Very Groat. I call that expression "quizzical" and Jim uses it fairly often, usually on foxes who are about to be blown up, have pianos dropped on their heads or otherwise tortured. ;p

I'm tempted to say "Curious" but it doesn't really fit.
The ears are all wrong for curiosity.
Also, looking upward is not the usual body language of curiosity.
If it was curiosity combined with looking up, the mouth
would be better slightly agape as if saying:
"Who would paint their flying saucer pink and green stripes?
Alien Preppies?"

Looking upward conveys more thoughtfulness, contemplativeness and optimism.
Perhaps even spirituality.

Your milage may vary.
