Last night I had a light snack of some Cheerios. To keep it light I used a very small container, which holds less that half of a cup. As I was slowly munching I noticed that the cereal seemed rather salty. For a moment I figured this was the result of my eating a bit better and being able to notice the typically high salt content of processed foods. Then I noticed another taste, a very mild taste of wasabi. D'oh! Of course. I used the same container for wasabi peas a while ago and had just sealed it. So I had Wasabi Cheerios, sort of.

I should have had the current music for the previous post.

Hmmm... That almost sounds tasty.

It was, though I'd up the wasabi just a bit to get the flavor of more than just salt. But not too much more. I'd still want to be able to have the cereal with milk and I suspect a full-on dose of wasabi would be a bad idea there.

Mmmm, just reading your post reminded me of something from my childhood. My mom would leave a small Tupperware (R) dish of Cheerios and Shreddies mixed together beside my bed in case I ever got hungry at night. To this day, Cheerios, Shreddies especially, and/or seeing Tupperware dishes in the style of the one my mom used would take me back. (You mentioning it as a nighttime snack did it for me). I really missed it, I suppose I could do it myself, but it isn't the same.
