Video rental offers

A couple things arrived in the mail this week, that when taken together are a bit amusing. First, Netflix is offering a free trial. A few days later another advert shows up in the mailbox. A local video rental place is offering a free rental, a couple rent-one and get one free deals, and even offering to forgive up to $25 in late fees. I wonder about that last one. While the advert is addressed to "resident" so noting I owe no late fees as I've never even rented from them hardly matters. That they are are willing to waive $25 of fees if someone "Comes back" (as the ad copy reads) says something.

I find it amusing that I've not rented a movie or such since I was in Platteville and now I get two free video rental offers in the same week.

We got one of those Netflix offers in the mail as well. Dancer daughter asked why we didn't go for a membership; my response was to point to the cable controller and say "Movie channels and Video On Demand, that's why..."
