One of the TV shows that appeared in the aftermath of Star Wars was one which was at least a partial parody of the movie. The "Force" was replaced with the "Source" and thus "Use the Force" became "Use the Source" as I recall. I have gotten curious about this program, though I'm not sure what brought it to mind. Alas, that line was about all I could remember.
"Use the source" is now a common suggestion (or more) to review the source code of a computer program. This means that a web search for that phrase generates a lot of useless results if one is looking for it as part of an old TV show. And so I kept not finding anything. Today as I skimmed a wikipedia entry about (in)famous Star Wars lines, an alternative search term came to mind: "May the Source be with you." This, it turns out, was an episode title.
The show was the short-lived Quark which lasted a whole seven episodes. Well, eight, but the first (or was it the zeroth?) aired a year earlier. A list of show summaries has me wondering if it really deserved to be canceled after only a few episodes, or if it was something like Police Squad!
