To Rocket City... via Kansas City?

In a rather roundabout way, I was contacted by someone in Kansas City who asked if it was possible for me to provide a ride to RCFM. After checking with a mapping service, it looks like it wouldn't add a significant amount of time to my travels. Navigating in Kansas City would likely be the worst of it, for me.

Such a route would mean that I would do more traveling on Thursday than Wednesday, which is opposite my normal plan. Also, to arrive in Huntsville, AL at the time I'd like the departure from Kansas City would have to quite early - though that might avoid some anything-but-rush hour congestion.

On the upside, if it works out maybe I can avoid motel costs on the trip to and from RCFM. That would more than offset any added fuel costs.

It's early yet and so nothing is sure. It'll be interesting to see what comes of this.
