Strange hum
25 August 2005 20:22Occasionally I hum softly, or even not-quite hum, and don't really notice it. That does not concern me. A little musical accompaniment to get through the day or mask some background noise just a bit is no big deal. Every once in a while I catch myself and find I don't where the tune came from or what it is. This is a bit annoying and frustrating. Sometime it just takes a little while and I remember that it's something I haven't heard in some time like Keep A Little Song Handy from a Betty Boop cartoon.
This morning however, I got a bit of a shock. I found I was softly humming (or almost humming) an odd tune. It took a moment to realize what it was. I'll point out that my day was going quite well and continued to go quite well, so it was all the more strange.
It was Taps.
