That sounds like something from the late 19th or early 20th century, before phone service became pretty much a standard thing. But it's what Bellsouth plans to do now, in the early 21st century.

Whaaat? Man, I religiously go through any channel EXCEPT face to face to make nearly all my purchases(if possible). I even scan and bag groceries myself to avoid human contact. It seems to take twice as long as soon as you involve another person. Particularly in the slow South!
