The anti-SUV adverts that are patterned after the anti-drug/anti-terror PSAs will have the same life cycle as the those PSAs, with one difference.

First they will be talked about because of the new "shocking" nature. Then they will get laughed at. Then they will be ignored as background noise. The very last step is the difference. The anti-SUV ads will be pulled a bit sooner. The anti-drug will drag on longer despite having no effect beyond causing use of the MUTE or Fast Forward buttons of the remote control.

Oh, there is one other difference. The newer ads will burn through the entire cycle faster.
