Heard on the radio this noon: Living within one's means is now counter-cultural. Me? Counter-cultural? Fine by me, at least in this case.

I'm not surprised to hear that. Of course I've always been counter-cultural in various ways, but this is a new one to add to the list.

The average American today has two or three credit cards maxed out, a huge car loan, and maybe a so-called 'jumbo' mortgage as well. Incredible.
