This could start a few different ways:

When was the last time you...
Do you recall the last time you...
Have you ever...

...used gopher on the internet?

Probably 1994, the last year I was at UW-Platteville. There were only a few computers with a web browser, but anyone with a Vax account could use gopher.

...locked a car door by pushing down the little stem at the back of the door?

November 1997, I think. The Excel didn't have power door locks and windows. The Corolla that replaced it does, though I didn't really want them at the time. I'm now far too used to having the power option.

...opened or closed a garage door manually?

January or February 2002. The garage at the old place wasn't wired.

...changed TV channels without a remote control?

Within the past week or two. The set in the bedroom has a remote control, but it's also old enough that it has a series of buttons along the bottom for channel selection.

...changed TV channels by turning a dial?

If you count a small portable set with a radio-like tuning knob, a couple months ago. I don't think I've turned a clunkety-clunk type tuning dial since maybe 1996.

...wound a clock or watch?

Not sure, but I think in 1998 or 1999 I did wind up a mechanical clock.

...used a watch or calculator that had LEDs for the display?

Probably the mid-1990s and then just to see if the old, original TI-30 still worked.

...played a record?

1986, I think.

...used a typewriter?

Sometime in the early 1980s.

...dialed a rotary phone to make a call?

Early 1990s. The phone in the folk's garage is (or was) still a rotary.

...turned on a radio and waited for it to warm up?

1995 or 1996. This particular radio happened to be an HW-101 transceiver, but it was a tube rig.

...watched as a TV station signed on, or off, for the broadcast day?

I remember watching signoffs and signons in the early 1980s.

...used a sliderule?

I know I used one, for real, in 1984 or 1985. Since then I've picked some up from time to time but really just played with rather than used sliderules.

...used an outhouse? (Not a porta-potty)

Probably 1978 or 1979. There was a trip to the school forest and the ancient facilities hadn't yet been replaced with something more modern. They were replaced not long after that.

...used a candle or lantern for light not during a blackout?

2000, I think. I know it was before I moved. The light was rather secondary as it was a scented candle and was lit for the aroma.
