It's started...
4 November 2002 08:58There is a debate (Coleman & Mondale) planned for 10 AM.
The Independence Party is going to court this morning to get their guy in on it as well - or get the debate cancelled if he's not allowed in. Jesse Ventura reportedly will be at a rally outside the debate location or such to protest if the IP candidate isn't added to the debate.
No word yet on any temporary senate appointee. Ventura has said he's waiting till after the the election. Reports are he's had a flood of offers and applications for the job.
And of course, after the election, unless the results are a landslide (or the DFL wins?) expect lawsuits about how absentee re-balloting is/was done. Someone already coined the term "Cold Florida" for what this may become. Nevermind what the law really says... if the DFL doesn't get its way, expect them raise a fuss.
I'm looking forward to Tuesday being over with. I am not looking forward to the probable legal shenanigans that will likely come immediately after.
Tomorrow I plan to leave the house early and vote before work. It's nice and slow and easygoing in the morning. And I've moved, so that will need to be sorted out as well.
