Carbonfree Carbohydrate?

Back in 2006 I posted about the oddity of "organic" salt. I've now encountered another oddity. In the organic (or "organic") food section of the local supermarket there was some sugar (C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁) that boasted it was carbonfree. Uh huh.

I know, it's not carbonless sugar, which would be very silly, but produced by someone with a "carbon-offset" which is only very slightly less silly.

And the thing that makes beans an emission source? Sugars.
