Finding Nemo
30 June 2003 19:43Saw the film sometime last week.
kinkyturtle asked me what I liked most about it and I couldn't really point any one thing, or even two things, really. The story is simple and you're along for the ride and that's pretty much it.
A couple things did stand out. One was the closing credits which nicely wrapped up what could be considered a throw-away subplot by showing a final result. Another was that a disparaging remark about Americans did not pan out, for once.
But now that I have had time to ponder (or forget?) one thing does stand out as being quite amusing. The fish & fowl fascination with dental procedures and instruments. It's not necessarily a get-a-belly-laugh-now funny, but it is something that does stay with you.
I don't plan to see this film again, at least not in the theater. It's okkay and a pleasant diversion, but as far as I'm concerned it's not great.
