I'm seeing more and more "This video requires Flash 8 or newer. Go to [URL] to get it!" And I go to that URL and what do I get? Well, since I'm running Linux, I get offered the latest Flash player that runs on Linux: Flash 7.whatever. Great going guys.

Sometimes, that's just (even more) lousy coding at work - I've come across that a couple times, on OS X, with the Flash 9 gubbins present. So, apparently 9<8. Who knew?

Look for Linux Flash 9 Beta 2. It seems to still have some trouble with contention for something--videos or audios seem to stutter occasionally, as opposed to Beta 1, in which the looping was endless--but on the whole, it does work reasonably well.

Huh... you'd think from looking at Adobe's web site that they'd stopped Linux support.

Linux Flash 9, in plugin and standalone format. I wonder if there's a standalone Flash 9 for Intel Macs yet. I miss SAFlashPlayer.
