Back from Houston, TX

The trip to Houston was uneventful and now I've been in Georgia, at least for never set foot out of the Atlanta airport values of Georgia.

The time in Houston was good. I had a jalapeno What-a-burger since I could. The presents we brought seemed to go over well, which is always good. What I received will be put to good use and enjoyed.

The trip back from Houston was long, but not the way Jay and I had expected. We'd expected to spend a few hours at the Atlanta airport between flights. That time got much shorter as the plane from Houston needed some work. We both noticed the smell of overheating electrical device before the announcement was made that we'd be returning to the gate. We sat there for a considerable time as work was done. Eventually we were informed that an air conditioning unit had been the problem.

The only weirdness is that AirTran handles boarding rather strangely. Once business class passengers have boarded, they start boarding from the rear as is typical. But after the first group boards for the last rows, the next group is called.. for the front rows of coach seating. The claim was made that alternate rear-front-rear-front boarding gets the plane loaded faster but I'd like to see the measurements. What I experienced was more delay in the jetway as the front row passengers blocked those who were boarding with rear seats.
