[UPDATE: The decision has been made.]
In 2004 I sprang for the top sponsorship level for Midwest FurFest and had a good time. The sponsor's brunch was particularly good and it didn't hurt that by pure chance I wound up at the same table as one of the guests of honor, and next to Kage. This is unlikely to happen again. For 2005 I went for the top sponsorship level again, but USPS managed to lose my registration form and payment, so I wound up getting the regular membership at the door. I had a pretty good time all the same. I didn't get the full sponsorship goodies, such as the artwork, or the sponsor's meal, and whatever else.
At closing ceremonies it was mentioned that the rate for the top level sponsorship was going up (by 20%) but that other rates would be unaffected. But that change is taking effect December 1. Now I have a decision to make: Do I go with the top level for 2006 and do so right away, or just go with the regular membership? Going for the premium package, I get the goodies which includes the meal, the art, the t-shirt, and whatever else. I also am supporting MFF itself, which is good. Going with regular I don't get that, but save a fair sum. I can drive up Golf Road and eat at Subway or such cheap and fill my stomach just fine. I can get what snacks I desire at a convenience store or even before leaving for the con. I can look at the t-shirt and decide if I desire it (this year I did not) and how many tote bags or such do I really need? Right now, I'm torn.
So, any recommendations?
