vakkotaur: Centaur holding bow - cartoon (bow)

I was recently prescribed a course of a sulfa drug. I have now finished that, and am glad to be done with it. There are many possible side effects to sulfonamides, pretty much all of them unpleasant. I was fortunate in that I only experienced one, and that in a somewhat weird way.

The side effect was headache, but I didn't get headaches in the normal sense. Normally a headache, for me, is a dull (or growing) but persistent nearly head-filling pain. Seldom is it localized to just one part of the head. What I got was, overall, the least annoying headaches with which one might be afflicted. They were a sudden, sharp but not overly intense, pain and they were extremely local. And they were extremely short-lived. I seemed to turn a corner or something and that would set one off. Then I'd pause for a moment, just long enough to think "Yow, that's annoying!" and then it was gone.

Now that I'm no longer taking the sulfa, I no longer have these peculiar headaches.
