At work (because the only supported progam for e-mail is the wretchedly rotten Outlook):

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.

Alas, nobody seems to heed it. It's easier to be lazy and do things the Microsoft & Wrong way. I even got one reply once asking why I hadn't replied. I had replied, just that I had replied properly.

Nope.
