That Feeling I'm Overlooking Something *OR* Write My Checklist

As I'm about to start on a trip, I've been getting things together for it. I have a checklist to help prevent my forgetting anything. Even so, I always have the feeling that I'm overlooking something. Any ideas, serious or silly, about what my checklist might be lacking?

Well... not until I see the checklist... unless you are wanting to compare it to what I would take... Lets see...

My own pillow - I hate hotel pillows.
Clothes: Shirts, t-shirts, jeans, pants, undies, sox, depending on time of year and event sweater or sweatshirt, light jacket (my list also includes bras, pantyhose and skirts - yours may vary GRIN)
Jammies and "sleepin' sox"
Dress shoes if (or in case) anything dressy will be happening
Extra tennis or other pair shoes (if my feet aint happy - no ones happy)
Toiletries Bag: Soap (I hate hotel soap), shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, tooth brush, toothpaste, meds, comb, hairbrush, handlotion (my list includes perfume, makeup and remover, also hair accessories,bobby pins, hairspray - yours may vary)
Heating Pad - learned the hard way to just leave this in the suitcase.
Susprises for anyone I'll be seeing - gifts, photos that sort of thing.
Music to travel by, must be bouncy, upbeat, and a wide variety of genre.
Car and hotel room munchies and beverages
Current Project: varies - but can include - reading material, crochet project, embroidery project (yours may vary)
Camera with extra batteries and memory card
Instruments and Music - depending on where we are going and who we might hook up with for a jam session. (Yours will probably not include this.)

I'm sure there's more. And yes, there is some varying from my list to yours. I didn't post my list as I don't have it handy just now - it's this evening that it will matter and it'll be handy then.

OK... we have music rehearsal... but I check to see what you say - either just before or just after... Gee... I can't possibly imagine what I have on my list that you don't have on yours GRIN...

OH - unless I get it out for some reason - In my toiletry bag I keep a small first aid kit with neosporin, bandaids and such and a bag with antacid, ibuprofin, cough drops and the like.

I, too have a checklist, and even when it's all checked off, I always feel that I am forgetting something. I think it's just natural to feel this way -- part of the 'travel angst'.

This is true... to help cure my travel angst I usually check for Wally World's in the vicinity of where I am going and on my way to where I'm going and print it out - it's sort of a "security blanket".

GRIN back. I probably shouldn't wear one either, BUT I decided I like hot tubs more than I hate looks of disgust. I'm spending the weekend shopping at Umaga and hot tubbing at the Hampton Inn. (I am also bringing the laptop with some good DVD's and my beadwork. Mark is being left at home because this is an all girls weekend.)

Yup, favorite comment I've heard about traveling was a man telling his wife that it was ok that they didn't pack everything because there would be stores where they were going.

That is in the pack of stuff for travel I don't bother removing from the suitcase anymore. I do need to get another small tube of toothpaste for the travel kit - the one in the kit now is just about empty now.
