The water coolers at work are not just coolers as they can also supply hot water. Press the blue button and you get cold water. Press both orange buttons and you get hot water. At least that's how it's supposed to work. The hot water is quite hot. I make tea with it without needing use a microwave and still need to let it cool a bit before I can drink it. Thus, having a safety feature that requires a person to be sure hot water is desired is a really good idea.

A few minutes ago I went to one of the coolers to get some cold water and didn't look too close and pressed a button. Water flowed. Then I noticed the wisps indicating hot water. What? Double check. Sure enough, the safety interlock isn't working. Press one of the orange buttons and nothing happens. Press the other one, alone, and hot water flows. Oops. I pointed this out and hopefully there'll be a service call soon.
